Theodore Hom is a cellist with the San Gabriel Symphony and South Orange County Orchestra, was a fellow of the California Young Artists Symphony, and has subbed with the Huntington Beach Symphony and Roudaki Orchestra.
He has performed under the batons of Gustavo Dudamel, Rafeal Payare, David Chan, Shardad Rohani, Mei Anne Chen, Josep Caballé Domenech and Johannes Muller Stosch at iconic venues such as Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Tanglewood Music Center, Moores Opera House, Segerstrom Concert Hall, and Ambassador Auditorium.
Theodore has performed in masterclasses for a wide array of distinguished artists, such as Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Paul Watkins, Robert DeMaine, Ronald Leonard, Andrew Shulman, Brinton Smith, Wei Yu, John Walz, Richard Aaron, and Eugene Drucker.
Theodore currently studies with Dr. David Garrett (LA Phil) at CSULB where has been principal cellist of the conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra since his sophomore year and was selected to perform as a member of the University String Quartet.
In addition to performing, Theodore is a dedicated educator. He has held teaching positions with the Saturday Conservatory of Music and Belmont Music Studio, and he currently teaches through “The Youth Center” in the Los Alamitos School District.
